OUR MISSION
The Arla Move Stronger Health & Well-being event is back for 2026! New for this year, we have different riding and walking/running routes. There will be our yoga and mindfulness activities. We also have the opportunity for a Padel lesson and game.
We are also proud to extend the event to all Arla colleagues across all our sites, with Wetherby Rugby Club featuring as the northern hub for our national health & well-being event.
There’s no cost to you, but please support and donate to our chosen charities British Heart Foundation & Cash For Kids via the sign up link.
ACTIVITIES
BIKE ROUTES
Our routes cater for all abilities. We'll have road rides of:
Short Road Ride: 18 miles/30km for beginners
Medium Road Ride: 35 miles/55km for intermediate cyclists
Long Road Ride: 48 miles/77km for experienced riders

HIKE/RUN ROUTES
Due to the popularity of our walking route, this year we have long and short options and also a running group:
Short Walk: 4.5 miles/7km. Everyone Welcome. Followed by Mindfulness.
Long Walk: 7 miles/11km. Two groups for experienced and beginner hikers.
Run Group: 7 miles/11km for intermediate/experienced runners.

YOGA SESSION
You can also choose to take part in a yoga class during the first part of the day, followed by a mindfulness session (see below).

NEW: PADEL SESSION
We're pleased to be able to offer the opportunity for a Padel lesson followed by Padel game for two hours followed by mindfulness.

MINDFULNESS SESSION
Those taking part in the short walk, run, Padel or yoga sessions will then take part in a mindfulness session too.
This year, we’re working with Jen Isles, a certified Mindset and Wellbeing Coach. Join Jen for a 75 minute Mindfulness and Meditation session, where Jen will introduce you to the benefits of Mindfulness, followed by a Mindfulness session. You’ll come away with practical tools and techniques to help you intgrate mindfulness on a daily basis.
Those who take part in yoga, the short walk or the run will have the opportunity to experience the mindfulness session with Jen.

GUIDES
We'll ride in different ability groups, accompanied by an expert guide from Struggle Events, who will support us along the way to direct the route and provide advice and support throughout.

SUPPORT
We'll be supported by the passionate team at Struggle Events who are experts in supporting cycling events for all abilities.
The Struggle support car will be roving throughout, should you need any assistance while out on your bike. Their expert mechanic will also be roving on the route but will also be at the start to provide pre-ride bike checks.

Cycle-To-Work Scheme
It is also a great reminder to let you know about the Cycle-To-Work scheme that allows you to buy a bike at a discounted rate.
Very simply, Arla buys the bike/accessories and you pay it back through monthly deductions form your salary over between 12 and 24 months (sometimes longer).
These deductions are made from your gross salary, thereby reducing the amount of your taxable income and effectively reducing the cost of the bike to you.
